What this area of our work covers.
This area develops the capability to generate and test new approaches. It covers understanding a problem from the perspective of the people affected, producing many options rather than defending the first, prototyping cheaply and improving through feedback.
AYCADO delivers this work because young people are often expected to be innovative without being shown any method for it. Treated as inspiration, innovation is unreliable. Treated as a practice of exploration, testing and iteration, it can be learned and repeated.
The area is grounded in constraint, which is the condition most young Africans actually work under. The emphasis is on what can be built and tested with what is available.

Participants work through a full cycle on a real problem: investigation, option generation, a rough prototype, testing with real people and a revised version presented to the group.
Constraints on time and materials are deliberate, because innovation under abundance teaches very little that is useful here.

Why it matters for work.
Creative problem solving is valued wherever organisations need improvement rather than maintenance, and it is essential to enterprise. It also produces demonstrable work that a young person can show and explain.
